‘Avengers: Endgame’ breaks PH box office record, earns P205.6M on opening day

MANILA, Philippines — “Avengers: Endgame” earned more than P205.6 million on its first day, making it the highest-grossing opening in Philippine cinema.


The fourth movie of the Avengers franchise and the epic conclusion to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) picked up P205,676,345 when it opened Wednesday, Disney Philippines reported Thursday.

It broke the record set by “Avengers: Infinity War,” which earned P141.6 million on its first day of showing in the Philippines in 2018.

Prior to the April 24 opening, local malls and cinemas already sold tickets for the much anticipated Marvel movie instalment.

Some theaters even started screening as early as 6 a.m. while some offered 24-hour showing of Avengers: Endgame./kga
