Miguel Escueta reading ‘Outliers’

/ 08:05 PM February 26, 2012

I got a copy of “Outliers” because I’ve been a fan of author Malcolm Gladwell ever since I read “The Tipping Point.” I try my best to read as often as I can, juggling fiction and marketing books. “Outliers” is very inspiring. It shares the stories of successful people from different industries. It tells about their struggles before they excelled in their fields. For example, it recounts how The Beatles performed for a total of 5,000 hours… playing for beer before they made it big. It also points out that if you’re not ready, success can elude you. It has taught me to stay sharp, to be always on the lookout for extraordinary opportunities. It pushes me to work hard.—Bayani San Diego Jr.
