“Ang Probinsyano’s” lead star Coco Martin reiterated the disclaimer at the start of the television series in response to Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Oscar Albayalde crying foul over bad portrayal of policemen in the program.

Martin, who plays Cardo Dalisay in the show, posted on Thursday a photo of the disclaimer via Instagram captioned: “Pasensya na po.”

His reaction echoed ABS-CBN’s statement that the program was “purely fictitious” as it had always stated in a disclaimer before the show starts every night.

The network also noted the show had no intention to “smear the reputation of any organization or portray any person in a negative light.”

Albayalde on Wednesday said “Ang Probinsyano” gives a bad impression of police officers.

He also raised concern over the show promoting the idea of “instant justice” and representing the PNP chief as a villain in the primetime show. /jpv
