LOOK: Sharon Cuneta thanks Duterte for supporting brother Chet

Megastar Sharon Cuneta thanked President Rodrigo Duterte for supporting her brother Cesar “Chet” Cuneta’s mayoral bid in Pasay City.

“President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has publicly announced that he is supporting my brother’s candidacy for Mayor of Pasay!” Cuneta wrote in an Instagram post on Tuesday, Oct. 16.

With a snapshot of a portion of a newspaper article, the Megastar said it’s the President who inspired her brother to run for office.

“Siya rin po ang nagudyok sa kapatid kong tumakbo nung umpisa palang dahil ayaw na po nya ang nakararating sa kanyang korupsyon sa Pasay! Thank you Mr. President!” she added.

The actress and singer accompanied her brother Chet when he filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) last Friday, Oct. 12.

Accompanied my brother Chet yesterday to the Comelec in Pasay City as he filed his Certificate of Candidacy for Mayor. We need lots of support and prayers. We don’t have THAT kind of money because we’ve been working simple, honest jobs. Let Pasay’s money earned from the likes of MOA and the casinos, etc. go to the people and the city of Pasay, where it belongs. We need your help to be able to do this. Neither of us has any higher political ambitions. Kuya wants to do what he can to help, and that’s it. We also hope that the Ombudsman please pay attention to the cases of corruption filed against some Pasay officials ages ago. Why so many delays? Hopefully not because of pay-offs. The new Ombudsman, we are counting on you po. To run while there are cases of corruption filed against you even before Chet decided to run for office is just way out of line. Kung ako, iilinisin ko muna ang pangalan ko bago ako humarap sa tao at humingi ng boto uli. Nakakahiya naman.

Chet Cuneta is running under the banner of Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC).
