Powerhouse singers Jed Madela and Nyoy Volante came in as the new mentors of “Your Face Sounds Familiar: Kids” earlier this year, their presence crucial in training the 10 child performers to be at their very best when it comes to their vocal bouts.

Madela is a seasoned singer who became the first ever Filipino to win the World Championships of Performing Arts title back in 2005; he has also been a judge in the “Tawag ng Tanghalan” of the noontime show “It’s Showtime.” So, if it comes to giving constructive criticism and knowing the technicalities that comes with singing, it’s safe to say that Madela is worth his salt.

But being in the spotlight definitely comes with a price. No celebrity is immune to bashers and criticism, and it seems Madela wasn’t spared from these, too, as he finally took to his Twitter account last June 10 to address the negative comments.

“As much as I wanna avoid reading negative comments, mapapabasa ka pa din kasi tinatag ka,” wrote Madela in a series of tweets. “Di madali ang pagbigay ng stars sa kids. Lalo na sa amin ni Nyoy kasi nakikita namin ang pinagdadaanan nila. Hinay hinay lang sa comments ha?”

Madela did not drop any names nor did he allude to a specific event in his posts, but it’s clear that he has had enough of some of the negative comments of people.

He clarified further, “Also, standing ovations, applause and screams doesn’t [sic] mean a guaranteed high score. Those reactions are for the moment.”

“I know I don’t have to explain everything we do but I don’t want to ignore your concerns,” added Madela.

In his latest tweet made just this morning, Madela said, “When all of the fans are generally nice and sweet, there will always be a rotten apple.”

It’s a truth that cannot be denied by anybody who works in the entertainment industry. And Madela, who’s been in the music industry far longer than his critics, would know that not everybody can be pleased.  /ra
