Jolina Magdangal expresses concern for firstborn, says their love will remain despite arrival of baby sister
Iconic actress Jolina Magdangal is expecting the arrival of her second baby in just a few days. Giving birth the second time around may be less nerve-wracking than the first, as the basics have been covered. For Magdangal, however, what’s making her nervous is not her nearing labor, but her firstborn Pele.
Magdangal took to her Instagram on May 16 to express to her 800,000-strong followers her fears and sentiments. She first addressed her 4-year old son Pele with musician husband Mark Escueta of Rivermaya, writing, “Anak, ilang araw nalang, hindi lang ikaw ang aalagaan namin ni Papa mo. Lagi ko pinagdadasal na sana wag mo maramdaman na wala na kaming oras para sayo dahil hinding hindi ka namin papabayaan.”
Magdangal also assured that their family would be happier now that Pele would have a playmate. “Mas magiging masaya pa tayo dahil magkakaroon ka na ng kalaro. Hingi din ako ng tulong sayo mag alaga ng baby sister mo.”
In her heartfelt note, Magdangal promised her little boy that their love for him would always remain no matter what, even if he would have a baby sister now in the picture. “Basta tandaan mo, pag nandito na si Vika sa tabi natin, mas lalo pang madadagdagan ang pag mamahal namin para sayo. I love you Pele. Love, Mama.”
It seems Magdangal has her own fair share of jitters and sentimentalities, confessing to her followers that she’s feeling a mixed bag of emotions.

She wondered, “Ganito ba talaga pag magkakaroon na ng pangalawang anak?”
Netizens were quick to come to Magdangal’s aid and offer their advice, specifically mothers who experienced the same thing.
“I felt the same way ng malapit na ako mag due sa youngest ko… Sa kanya umikot ang buhay namen ni hubby and I was scared na baka hindi ko na mabigay yung same attention na naibigay namen sa kanga nung mag isa pa lang siya,” wrote one Macy to Magdangal.
The netizen added,“When I gave birth sa youngest ko nawala lahat ng worries kasi ang sarap ng feeling na nakita ko yung maturity sa panganay ko at super love na love niya si baby and he doesn’t get jealous at all. Naging mas giving siya.”
Meanwhile, one netizen tried to make Magdangal feel better by saying what she’s feeling is normal. “Ganyan talaga, it’s normal,” wrote a certain Jeng. “And you will surpass that phase. Kalma lang. Your family will be a lot happier while getting bigger.”
Hubby Mark Escueta was nothing but supportive and positive toward his wife, too. In a sweet comment, Escueta wrote, “Kayang-kaya natin ito mahal. Kahit madagdagan pa sila in the future.” /ra
