WATCH: Jolina Magdangal is a trooper while going through prenatal check-ups, reveals baby girl’s name
On her 26th week of pregnancy, Jolina Magdangal is making sure that all is well for her and her baby.
The actress-talkshow host spent the day for a series of check-ups at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Muntinlupa City, as seen in her vlog uploaded Tuesday. Magdangal was accompanied by husband Mark Escueta and their son, Pele.
Magdangal went through three blood extractions for gestational diabetes, an ultrasound and a visit to the doctor to have an update on her baby girl’s condition. Both father and son where there by her side.
Upon arriving home, Magdangal said that her day was tiring but worthwhile. She also shared that her pregnancy was an answered prayer.
“[D]inasal namin na magka-baby na pangalawa, tapos dinasal namin na yung gender ay sana babae at lahat ay ibinigay sa amin ng tamang oras, tamang timing,” Magdangal said.
(We prayed to have a second baby, and we prayed that the gender would be a girl, and it was given to us at the right time, the right timing.)

She even expressed her excitement on the ultrasound by saying “Natutuwa ako na okay na okay siya. Normal na normal siya (I’m glad to say that she’s really okay, really normal).”

She explained further that unlike the first time, she still experiences morning sickness and lately has difficulty walking.
She then advised mothers and mothers-to-be to believe in the power of prayer. “Lahat talaga ibibigay sa atin kung para sa atin. Kung hindi man, hindi Niya tayo pababayaan sa lahat ng pagdaraanan natin (He will really give us everything we ask for if it is really meant for us. If not, He will not abandon us in the difficulties we will be going through).”
And what will she and Escueta name their baby girl? They chose Vika Anaya. According to Magdangal, Vika in Indian means “source of life,” while the Hebrew name Anaya is defined as “God answers.”
The couple announced they were expecting their second child in November 2017, while they revealed the baby’s gender two months later. /ra
