Erik Matti hints at superhero movie with Liza Soberano

Director Erik Matti dropped another hint about Liza Soberano starring in a superhero movie.

Matti shared a snapshot with Soberano on Instagram, dated April 24, where he claimed bumping into the actress by chance. He wrote on the caption, “Bumped into this pretty girl. @lizasoberano I saw the future that you are going to be in a superhero movie #theprojectthatshouldnotbenamedyet.”

The director did not mention whether this superhero movie is “Darna.”

Soberano was previously pegged as the heir to the Darna role, but reports indicated the movie had been shelved. Matti denied these reports with a tweet on March 8 showing a production team huddled in a discussion circle.

Mico del Rosario of Star Creatives supported Matti and denied said reports. Also on March 8, he uploaded an article cutout on Instagram and claimed the write-up was not true.

The last actress to wear the Darna costume was Marian Rivera for a television series, which aired in 2009.  /ra
