WATCH: Ogie Alcasid serenades TNV driver with funny song

Ogie Alcasid was his usual comical stooge self when he took to Instagram last Sunday, April 15, to share to his followers a video of him serenading a Grab driver with a funny song he composed, unofficially titled “Grab Tayo Bes” based on his hashtags.
In the video, Alcasid is seen sitting in the backseat of a Grab car when he started to trill in an unnaturally high-pitched, singsong voice.
“Grab tayo bes papuntang opisina, Grab tayo bes kasama si kuya,” sang Alcasid as he panned the camera to the Grab driver and said, “Hi ka kuya!”
“Hi!” greeted and waved the friendly driver in blue.
The “Grab Tayo Bes” song was the same one he sang (although with a few changes in the words) to wife, Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez, in their home last April 10 that got her convulsing in laughter that bordered on crying.
The simple lines of the song speak about enjoining a friend to take a Grab car to go to various places — from daily destinations such as the office (as sung by Alcasid in the previous clip), all the way to popular tourist spots in the Philippines.
“Grab tayo bes papuntang Bocaue, Grab tayo bes balik sa Marawi, Grab tayo bes papunta na sa Vigan, Grab tayo bes papunta sa Palawan,” sang Alcasid with a poker face, while Velasquez in the background squealed in hysterics. “Grab tayo bes papunta sa Ilocos, Grab tayo bes baba na sa Digos, Grab tayo bes papunta sa Iloilo…”
Mission accomplished, of course, as Alcasid immediately followed his post on Instagram with a video clip of Velasquez uncontrollably howling in laughter, and eventually crying, as she found herself overwhelmed. “#theaftermath #wifeishappy #grabtayobes,” wrote Alcasid then.
It is unclear if the catchy “Grab Tayo Bes” would officially drop as Alcasid’s single, but with the amount of laughter it has amassed, the good vibes it has spread, and the Last Song Syndromes it afflicted to the Citizens of the Internet, it just might. JB
