Juancho Trivino says sorry over viral video of ‘bad joke not intended for Alden’
Kapuso actor Juancho Trivino has issued a public apology to Pambansang Bae Alden Richards, his family, and fans, over a video of him gesturing the finger upon mention of Richards’ name.
The controversial viral video, which lasted for a few seconds, first focused on Richards’ photo. A woman was then heard from the background saying, “Nandito si Alden”; then pointed the camera to Trivino, who then motioned two “dirty fingers” that extremely offended fans of Richards.
The video, which was was uploaded on an Instagram fanpage under the handle @maichard_2416_maria, has this caption: “Para sa mga nag tatanong kung anong issue kay @juanchotrivino ito ang proof sa pangba-bastos mo kay Alden. Kaya ‘wag na ‘wag mo kaming babaliktarin na kami ang nangba-bash sa’yo dahil Ikaw ang unang nang-bastos sa idol naming, fake ugly arrogant, please don’t mention or tag Maine and Alden thanks.”

Consequently, Trivino’s social media accounts were flooded with hate messages from enraged fans of Richards.
Eventually, Trivino apparently barred people from posting their comments on his Instagram account. But this did not stop Richards’ fans, who managed to just comment on previous Instagram posts of Trivino.

Trivino released an apology statement via his Instagram page that also clarified the controversial gesture “was not intended” for Richards.
He also addressed his apology to disappointed fans and family members. He promised to be more mindful of his actions after this incident.
As of posting, Inquirer.net is still awaiting comment from Alden Richards regarding this issue. /kga
