Big Bang’s G-Dragon starts mandatory military service on Feb. 27
Big Bang’s leader, G-Dragon, has received his military draft notice and is set to begin his mandatory military services on Feb 27, Soompi reports.
The location of his enlistment was not announced publicly by his agency, YG Entertainment. The agency also said that G-Dragon will be enlisting privately.
This makes G-Dragon the second member of the K-pop quintet to begin military services, following Big Bang’s rapper, T.O.P. The rapper is currently fulfilling his duties as a public service worker after being discharged due to his drug issues.
YG Entertainment added that G-Dragon has been mentioning about his wishes to enlist as soon as his military summons arrive. With this in mind, G-Dragon expressed his feelings about his mandatory military enlistment during Big Bang’s 2017 year-end concert at the Gocheok Sky Dome.
“Just like how spring comes after winter ends, I hope everyone will stay healthy until then and won’t be sad. We will meet again soon,” the K-pop star said to comfort fans. The five of [us] always hope that everyone will be happy. That is the source of our strength. If you patiently wait for the day we are reunited, day by day, I believe that day will come quickly. Because our love won’t ever change.” JB
