Robi searching for ‘lifetime travel buddy’
Robi Domingo, who’s hosting a new travel web program called “Lakwatsero,” says he is currently in search of a lifetime travel buddy.
After dating for over four years, he and athlete-turned-TV host Gretchen Ho announced their breakup in March 2017.
“If ever I’d find one, I hope that we’ll be together for life,” Robi told reporters during a media gathering to promote the show that airs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 6 p.m., in the Life section of news.abs-cbn.com.
“You never know, I might find her while doing this show,” added Robi, who earlier admitted that he was still not ready for a new love and would often turn down offers from friends to set him up with other girls.
Soul-searching

“Why dwell on the negative things in your life? If you can see the marvels that I’ve encountered, your depression will surely disappear,” said Robi, adding that one of the highlights of his trips was the opportunity to swim with white-tipped reef sharks in Malapascua.
“I trained for three weeks to get that diving certification. It’s expensive, but it was worth it,” he beamed.
New perspective
Asked what he has learned from his recent travels, the TV host confessed, “I’ve lived in the world of books all my life. I was a big nerd. If not for ‘Lakwatsero,’ I’d be stuck in a room studying about biology or anatomy; but the show has given me a new perspective on life.”
The TV host said he used to work “just for the money…to be financially secure,” until he met a German traveler while taping for the show. “He said there were two kinds of rich people—those who have a lot of money, and those who are rich in character.
“He said, ‘I hope you’ll end up to be the second one.’ I’ve learned so much about myself because of the show.”
