Heart Evangelista remembers second mom Miriam Santiago
Kapuso actress Heart Evangelista shared how she missed the late Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago, whose first death anniversary was marked on Friday.
In an entry in her Instagram stories, Evangelista posted a photo of her together with the late senator and veteran actor Eddie Garcia. She captioned it, “One year without you tomorrow… I felt that.”
In another Instagram post, the actress reminisced about her wonderful friendship with her Tita M.
She wrote, “One year has passed. Here I am thinking you’re just abroad, that one day the phone will just ring and we’ll talk for hours about anything and everything under the sun. How I wish that was true. But, your unconditional love and wisdom inspire and help me go through each day. Tita M, you will always be my ‘Queen of Hearts.'”

The actress was known to be close to the senator and they would be seen traveling together. Santiago played cupid to Evangelista and her now husband, Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero.

Evangelista has declared in past interviews that she treated Santiago as her second mother. /ra
