Gary V. performs free concert in storm-hit Albay town

CAMALIG, Albay – Singer Gary Valenciano surprised hundreds of residents here with a free mini concert held at a covered court Tuesday.

Valenciano, 52, a native of this town, said the free concert at 6 p.m. was to boost the morale of residents after the devastating effects left by typhoon “Nina” (international name: Nock-ten) which hit Bicol region on Christmas Day of 2016.

Before performing, Valenciano joined the medical and dental mission activity at Camalig North Central.

“I was able to meet a seven year-old girl who has diabetes and told her and her parents that with (the helped of) technology and science, finding the medicine or cure for (her) ailment is very close,” said Valenciano who is also living with diabetes for almost 38 years now.

Mayor Ahrdail Baldo said they were very thankful to Operation Blessing Philippines headed by John Tan for attending to the residents who are suffering with respiratory ailments.

She said several children were circumcised and most of the patients received hygiene kits and three wheel chairs.
