WATCH: Second trailer for ‘Despicable Me 3’ released

/ 03:23 PM March 16, 2017

The latest clip from the upcoming animated sequel offers fans a first glimpse of Gru’s long-lost twin brother, Dru.

Now that Gru is a good guy, the addition of Dru, also voiced by Steve Carell, gives the film’s writers, Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio, a chance to bring back Carell’s darker side and potentially let him take his performance up several notches.

The new film, due out on June 30, also sees South Park co-creator Trey Parker joining the cast as Balthazar Bratt. He’s a former child star who thinks he’s grown up to be his most famous on-screen character and who, according to the filmmakers, is “Gru’s most formidable nemesis to date.”
