Brillante Mendoza’s ‘Tsinoy’ premieres on TV5

Cannes-winning filmmaker Brillante Ma Mendoza’s first television series for TV5 premieres tonight, Jan. 21, 9 p.m.
“Tsinoy,” the first episode of the monthly series, “Brillante Mendoza Presents,” focuses on Binondo and the Filipino-Chinese community. Actress Ina Raymundo leads the cast that also includes Eisen Lim, Eduardo Ngo and Rebecca Shangkuan Chuaunsu.
The TV drama, which was written by Boots Agbayani Pastor, also features the Philippine Mingsheng Wenyang Sports Association. —Bayani San Diego Jr.
