Ricky Martin announces engagement to boyfriend Jwan Yousef

When Ricky Martin guested on Wednesday’s episode of “Ellen,” he was obviously madly in love.

The “Livin’ La Vida Loca” singer, 44, announced his engagement to Syrian-born artist Jwan Yousef and narrated to host Ellen DeGeneres how he “nervously” proposed to his beau of one year.

“He’s a conceptual artist and I’m a collector. I started looking for art, and I saw his art and I went crazy because I really love what he does, really original,” Martin narrated.

Martin explained how he popped up the “big” question to Yousef. “I proposed. I was really nervous. I got on my knees, and I took out the little velvet pouch and instead of saying, ‘Would you marry me?’ I said, ‘I got you something!’ Bad,” he said.

BACKSTORY: Ricky Martin finds new home on small screen

“I said, ‘I want to spend my life with you,’ and he said, ‘What is the question?’” he happily remembered. “It was very beautiful and then 30 minutes after, I said, ‘Wait, did you say yes?’”

The singer is currently a proud father to 8-year-old twin sons Mateo and Valentino, born from a surrogate mother. He is also active in his humanitarian projects and an upcoming Las Vegas residency with other artists.  Gianna Francesca Catolico
