Ed Sheeran has almost been devoid of social media exposure these past few months, and if ever he makes one, it would truly be “melodic.”

The “Thinking Out Loud” singer, 25, visited Melody Driscoll, a terminally ill 9-year-old child, and brightened her world by singing his 2014 hit “Photograph” and strumming a pink ukelele to accompany himself. Her mother filmed the meaningful encounter and posted it on Facebook.

Driscoll suffers from a rare neurological disorder called Rett Syndrome, intestinal failure and several ailments that prompted her to undergo more than 40 surgeries.

Due to her illness, Driscol, who turns 10 in December, is unable to speak or walk, spending most of her life in a hospital bed in England. Despite her disabilities, she expresses her passion for music and is a die-hard fan of the British pop star.

After his visit, Melody’s mother, Karina, wrote a fervent thank-you note for Sheeran on Saturday.

She recounted how her daughter was enamored by his angelic voice and melodic tracks. “You are the one that has made all of that happen. She fell in love with you when ‘Thinking Out Loud’ came on TV for the very first time. Her reaction said it all. She sat there beaming at you on the tv and didn’t take her eyes off you for a single second.”

“My princess finally got her Prince Charming. I was so impressed that you came into the ward on your own, no management, no security, no publicity, nothing. Just you. That meant so much to us all,” she said.  Gianna Francesca Catolico
