We gave Star Cinemaís ìThe Third Partyî an A grade at the Cinema Evaluation Board. Zanjoe Marudo turned in a convincing portrayal as Sam Milbyís gay lover.

Since I have a gay son, IC, I empathized with the characters played by Zanjoe and Sam. For me, the best men are gay. The film reminds us that love knows no gender. One love fits all.

Hereís my chat with Zanjoe:

FEATURED STORIES

How did you and Sam make each other comfortable before doing scenes? It was awkward all the time, but we laughed it off before the camera rolled. We accepted the film, so we had to do each scene wholeheartedly.

What are your thoughts on same-sex marriage? I will go where I am happy. I will not limit myself  because of the opinion of others. More than marriage, itís the love between two peopleóstraight or gayó that matters.

Based on your experience in ìA Third Party,î what is more complicatedóa gay or  a straight relationship? Each comes with its own complications. But itís love that will see you through. Of course, gays canít get pregnant, but adoption is always an option. But after I shot the movie, Iím still attracted to girls (laughs).

New beginning for James

Itís a new beginning for my migo, James Yap.  He became a dad again to Michael James in August.

Starting this month, heíll be playing for a different PBA team, Rain or Shine (ROS). After 12 colorful years with Purefoods Star Hotshots, James is all set to outdo himself as a cager for the Elasto Painters. Hip hoop hooray!

My  chat with James:

Whatís your most memorable moment with Purefoods? As a team, we bonded like family. My first championship as a PBA player, being named MVP, and our grand slam victory.

What can you contribute to ROS? My experience. Playing for a new team is an exciting challenge. It inspires me to give my 100 percent.

How is Baby MJ? Heís growing fast and has put on a lot of weight. Nanggigigil ako when I carry him.

Has Bimby met his brother MJ? Not yet. They will meet in due time.
