TV debates have served their purpose
LORNA MENDEZ, televiewer: “The first presidential aspirants’ debate had some birth pains. The best televised confrontation was the vice presidential candidates’ debate on CNN Philippines, with moderators Pia Hontiveros and Pinky Webb. They got the participants to abide by the rules without being rude or impolite.
“The vignettes used during the last debate were a case of overkill. While some people may have expected a deeper discussion of the issues, the debates served their purpose.”

Cecile Lucina, office employee: “The Dawn Zulueta-Richard Gomez screen pairing still has the kilig factor it had the first time I watched them in ‘Hihintayin Kita Sa Langit.’ They still look good, are fine actors, and their chemistry still works. I hope to see them again in a teleserye or a movie.”
Raffy Manzano, businessman: “It’s good to know that despite the relatively poor showing of her latest film, ‘Whistleblower,’ at the box office, Nora Aunor continues to do films helmed by young and talented directors. What she needs now is a project that the Filipino audience would be more interested in.

But for her to really make her presence felt, Nora should star in a film project with popular actors like John Lloyd Cruz and Piolo Pascual. For starters, how about a guest stint in popular drama shows (like ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya’)?”
