Pop star wants justice for her killed father

MANILA, Philippines—International Filipino pop star Charice Pempengco arrived in Manila around midnight Tuesday.

Charice, who arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) Terminal 2 around 11:45 p.m. from Jakarta via Philippine Airlines flight PR 311, was met at the airport by her mother Raquel and manager Grace Mendoza.

The mother and daughter held each other in a tight embrace when they saw each other at the airport.

Clad in a black polo shirt and pants and was wearing a blue bonnet and shades, Charice was in tears as she talked to reporters at the arrival lobby.

She said she hopes justice would be given to her father.

Charice had decided to cancel her scheduled appearance in the ongoing David Foster & Friends tour so she could pay her last respects to her estranged father, Ricky Pempengco, who was stabbed dead on Monday, October 31, in San Pedro, Laguna.

She was supposed to be at the Grand Theatre of Marina Bay Sands in Singapore November 2 to 3 for the show.
