Forgiveness

/ 03:10 AM December 26, 2015

In a Peruvian village, there’s an unusual way of saying goodbye to the old year and welcoming the new year: Those who have unsettled issues with others are given a chance to bring everything to the forefront—and engage in fist fights to settle everything and start the new year with a clean slate!

What do the great sages have to say about this? A disciple of Confucius requested his master for a word that would capture the most important thing in life, and he said, “Forgiveness.”

In the Vedic book, “Shrimad Bhagavatam,” it is said that it is the duty of a wise person to forgive. A person who is forgiving brings pleasure to the Supreme Being.
