Five thousand run and scream for their lives at Outbreak Manila

12:52 PM December 23, 2015

Last December 5, a crowd of five thousand people took on a zombie-infested obstacle course in Arca South, Taguig. This would be the seventh installment of Outbreak Manila, making it the longest-running zombie run to hit Manila. The event offered new twists that even loyal Outbreak runners have never experienced before.

It was in April 2012 when Outbreak Manila first gave runners a taste of running for their lives. The five kilometer course had runners taking on flag-hungry zombies whose sole mission was to take all of their life flags. Fast forward three years later and it is now well-known that the event is for everybody– it is plain exciting fun for the young and the young at heart.

Outbreak Manila organizer Angelo Cruz says, “People might say this is just another zombie run. That’s why we’ve worked hard to put new obstacles to give participants a screaming good time”. The course surprised everyone with seven dynamic and challenging bouncy inflatables with zombies lurking in the background. Young and old, runners and walkers, screamed their way through an amazingly fun event.

It seems that the zombie fever still runs high in our present culture, and that is why more Outbreaks keep coming our way. “More than the love for zombies, Outbreak Manila is about having fun and sharing experiences with your friends and family. We added the inflatables so that people would not only scream like a kid, they would bounce like one”.

If you missed the latest Outbreak, keep your fingers crossed, because we never know when and where it will happen next.
