Christina Perri, Ed Sheeran, ‘Exodus’ fest this month
Christina Perri, the American singer-songwriter of the hit ballad “Jar of Hearts,” gained the attention of music listeners after her debut single was used in a reality dance contest in 2010. She will hold a one-night concert at Smart Araneta Coliseum on March 5.
Known for churning out material on love and heartbreak, Perri—who was discovered through YouTube—followed up the success of her breakthrough hit with such songs as “A Thousand Years” and “Human.”
Mounted by Midas Promotions, her Manila concert is part of her world tour, “Head or Heart,” which is also the title of her sophomore album that contains songs inspired by the highs and lows she has experienced from falling in and out of love.
“I knew the only way to make my second album work was to tell the truth. I’m not pretending that I’ve figured it all out … I tried trusting my heart and I’ve tried trusting my head, but I feel as though I’ve chosen wrong each time,” the 28-year-old music artist said of her latest record. “I don’t know how to trust both of them yet.”
