No heavy drama
TV5 pulls out all the stops to make 2015 its kind of year by launching 10 shows in the first quarter. That’s just for starters!
The new programs include the morning lifestyle-reality show “Happy Wife, Happy Life”; advice shows “Solved na Solved,” “Healing Galing” and “Call Me Papa Jack”; talent shows “Move It: Clash of the Street Dancers” and “Rising Stars”; comedy series “Mac & Chiz” (starring Derek Ramsay and Empoy Marquez as twin brothers) and “2 1/2 Daddies” (featuring the Padilla siblings Robin, Rommel and BB Gandanghari).
Also in store are a new batch of stories for the popular youth-oriented mini-series “Wattpad Presents” and the much-awaited premiere on Philippine free TV of the hit international children’s show “Hi-5.”
Quite an interesting lineup, sans heavy drama—TV5’s way of spreading good vibes, living up to its tag as “The Happy Network.”
BB’s loves
Here’s my tête-à-tête with BB Gandanghari.
Article continues after this advertisementAre you open to the idea of adopting a child?
Article continues after this advertisementYes, but the question is when. Bottom line is, I want to be a responsible parent. Adoption is sharing your blessings, your life, with a soul who needs love and nurturing. It’s very special. I’m praying for it, actually.
How’s your relationship with Robin and Rommel?
We’re good. They both say they continue to discover new things in me. So I’m happy.
What can you say about Pope Francis?
I admire him for his humility; he’s very charming, too. I can relate to his being Lolo Kiko. I watched CNN’s coverage of his visit, and one of the stories presented was that of Aiza Seguerra and Liza Diño’s same-sex wedding. I thought he would address marriage equality.
How’s your love life?
Why does it seem to be the hardest question? Robin says I’m still young (laughs).
Danica’s secrets
My one-on-one with Danica Sotto-Pingris:
What would you advise wives, to keep the fire burning in marriage?
Ask God to bless your marriage. Go out on dates with your husband. Make a conscious effort to spice things up.
What makes your marriage work?
We talk about everything, big and small. We don’t brush aside any conflict; we settle things right away. We respect our differences and accept each other’s weaknesses. It’s also important to be friends with other couples who walk in faith with you.
How do you balance being a wife and being a mom?
As a wife, I make sure Marc’s needs are met—food, lambing, attention. He is a hands-on dad so I never have to divide my time between him and our two kids.
What can viewers expect from your show, “Happy Wife, Happy Life”?
Relatable topics for moms and wives
—fitness, beauty, cooking, business, relationships… The show is light and fun, but also informative and helpful.
