Eat your hearts out: Dionisia Pacquiao’s lover is 40 years old
GENERAL SANTOS CITY—Mommy Dionisia Pacquiao is not about to reveal the identity of her mystery lover—not just yet.
After repeated denials, the 65-year-old mother of Sarangani Rep. and world boxing champ Manny Pacquiao finally admitted this week that she is in a relationship with a man 25 years her junior, whom he identified only as Michael.
The children of Mommy D, as she is endearingly called, expressed no objections, although Manny had earlier expressed reservations about his mother walking down the aisle when her marriage has not yet been annulled.
Mommy D said she and Michael first met at a birthday party, the details of which she did not reveal. She said Michael was also her escort when she celebrated her 65th birthday in May.
“He requested me not to reveal his full name and background,” she told reporters here when pressed for more details about Michael.

Manny, on the other hand, said he trusts the wisdom of his mother. “I believe that she’s capable of making the right decision,” he said.
Sarangani Vice Gov. Jinkee Pacquiao said like her husband, she was happy to know that Mommy D has found a new love.
“We support her in whatever decision she would make. We want her to be happy,” Jinkee said.
But even with the support of her family, Mommy D said she has no plans of remarrying just yet.
“Don’t worry, I’m going to announce to the whole world once I decide to get married again,” she told reporters here on Thursday.
Mommy D said Michael has no plans of marrying soon either as he had plans to work abroad.
“Just in case, it’s not a problem. I can handle a long-distance relationship,” she said.
In a more serious tone, Mommy D said she wants to know Michael better before making any life-changing decision.
“I learned from my past relationships that it’s wrong to love with all your heart. Always leave something for yourself so that when the relationship fails, you’ll not be totally devastated,” she said. Aquiles Z. Zonio, Inquirer Mindanao
