Cristine wants a baby boy for Ara

SHE’D like a baby of her own, but “not any time soon,” says Cristine.

Actress Cristine Reyes’ wish for older sister Ara Mina, who is two months pregnant, is a baby boy. “I have a lot of nieces and very few nephews,” Cristine explained. “But, girl or boy, I’m sure the baby will be beautiful. I just hope my sister will not have a difficult pregnancy.” Ara had a miscarriage in December 2013.

The sisters were set to go on a trip to Japan with their mom, Frances Klenk, this year, but Cristine said they had to call it off. “Everyone is telling ate  (older sister) to stay home and relax. Mommy doesn’t even want her to step out of her house, or join us for dinner,” Cristine pointed out. “Although ate’s doctor didn’t order complete bed rest, my mom is being extra careful.”

The child’s father is Bulacan mayor Patrick Meneses. A wedding date has yet to be set, Cristine said. “Let’s not pressure them. How great their love is, should not measured by whether or not they decide to get married.”

Not dating

Cristine, 25, said she’d like a baby of her own, but not any time soon. “First, I have to find myself a boyfriend. Raising a family is a serious matter.”

She was “entertaining suitors,” Cristine said, but “not dating anyone exclusively.” She denied reports that she and Gilas Pilipinas basketball player Kevin Alas were an item. “We saw each other only twice,” she told reporters during an event organized by cosmetics brand Ever Bilena. Cristine endorses the EB Beauty Advance products.

Cristine said Kevin was introduced by comedian Vice Ganda. “[But] I don’t think Kevin’s courting me. We have yet to go out,” she clarified.

In 2013, she was in a relationship for less than four months with actor Derek Ramsay, with whom she has remained friends. “I’m open to dating. But my schedule isn’t that open,” she quipped. “I want to focus on work. I enjoy hanging out with a lot of people. There’s nothing wrong with that because I’m single.”

Last seen in the ABS-CBN drama “Honesto,” Cristine is working on two movies: “The Gifted” with Anne Curtis and Sam Milby; and “My Trophy Wife,” with Derek.
