Thai musicians organize day-long event to help ‘Yolanda’ victims

BANGKOK—Activists, singers and concerned citizens will perform a day-long musical event at Central World Saturday to raise funds to help victims of Supertyphoon “Yolanda” (Haiyan).

The event, “Play for the Philippines”, will feature various groups, including professional musicians. They intended to serenade passers-by in hope of attracting donations for the cause.

The event began at 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at Eden Zone, on the ground floor of Central World department store.

“Thank you so much for all your efforts to help my brothers and sisters in the Philippines who are suffering,” wrote Kukie Moreno, a Filipino, on the event’s Facebook site Friday. “I will always be grateful to Thailand. Thailand has been my second home…”
