To Tokyo, SF, Lima, Edinburgh

Shireen Seno’s “Big Boy” will be screened, along with Seno’s short “Lovebird,” at the Hors Piste Tokyo tomorrow.

Seno describes the event as “an art and images festival promoting experimentation of new forms.”

Gym Lumbera’s “English” will also be exhibited as an installation throughout the fest, from today until June 16.

“Big Boy” will likewise be shown at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco tomorrow (June 9, Manila time), at the Festival de Cine Lima Independiente in Peru (June 14 to 23) and at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in the United Kingdom (June 24 and 30).

‘Thy Womb’ in Spain

Filipino filmmaker Brillante Ma. Mendoza’s “Thy Womb” is set to compete at the 7th Granada Film Festival Cines del Sur in Spain. The Nora Aunor starrer will also be the opening film of the fest, which will run from June 9 to 15. “Thy Womb” is among 10 productions competing for best feature film, special jury and audience awards.
