Lorenzo Albano, student: “June and July mark the start of the independent film season. Next month ushers in the launch of the CineFilipino film festival, followed by the highly anticipated Cinemalaya fest.
“It’s exciting to note that two of the country’s top actresses, Nora Aunor and Vilma Santos, have entries to those festivals—Aunor for Mes de Guzman’s ‘Ang Kuwento ni Mabuti,’ and Santos for Jeffrey Jeturian’s ‘Ekstra.’ Let’s hope they do well!”

“Between Maja Salvador and Kim Chiu, the former is the better actress—she has more depth. Chiu comes off as if she’s always on rehearsal mode.”

Marlon Dizon, televiewer: “In some teleseryes, there are scenes where actors are shown talking on their cell phones while driving. They shouldn’t be shown on TV! Vehicular accidents happen because of this dangerous practice. The networks should educate through their programs, teleseryes included.”
Marilyn Lopez, OFW: “After his loss in the recent polls, Richard Gomez shouldn’t lose heart. He can always go back to acting—for starters, he should do a movie with erstwhile screen partner, Dawn Zulueta. They still look good—and are fabulous together.”
