MANILA, Philippines — Amidst up and coming international acts set to perform in a day-long music and skate fest in Makati City, there will be this fair-haired teenage Filipina rocker who will attempt to wow the crowd with her prowess in pop-punk music.

Fourteen-year-old Fil-Am Cheska Zaide, lead vocalist of A+Dropouts, started playing music at a tender age of twelve but is by no means a stranger to the hot stage lights.

Touring with three bandmates from California since they decided to form the band in 2009, Zaide has rocked quite a number of live shows in the States although playing in the country where her parents came from remained special.

“I was born in California but we’ve performed in Manila before and the reception was really good. The food is great, the people even more awesome,” she told INQUIRER.net in a recent interview.
