JUICO. High hopes for the Filipino youth.

Lena Marie “Mayen” Juico has won as councilor of the first district of Quezon City. She is a product of St. Theresa’s College and De La Salle University, with a degree in AB Organizational Communication. The principled, 29-year-old public servant has high hopes for the Filipino youth: “It’s my crusade to develop the youth sector as an instrument for progress and catalyst for change.”

An exemplary youth leader, Mayen’s parents are TOYM awardee Dr. Philip Ella Juico and PCSO chair Margarita Penson-Juico. She intends to empower young people through education.

Meanwhile, Grupo Reposo is organizing a street party on May 18-19 at the LRI Art Pavilion, starting at 10 a.m. There are lots of exciting activities to choose from—food-tasting, painting, film screenings at Alliance Francaise, and concerts at the LRI Design Plaza, 210 Nicanor Garcia st., Bel-Air II, Makati City.

Acclaimed pianist Raul Sunico and soprano Clarissa Ocampo will perform tonight at 6:30, while violinists will join Coke Bolipata tomorrow evening. Call 895-1772.
