JUDY Ann and Ryan: “We could just get married again.”

Whenever show biz reporters huddle around Judy Ann Santos for a quick interview, two issues almost always crop up: The likelihood of reuniting with Piolo Pascual onscreen, and persistent speculations that her four-year marriage with husband Ryan Agoncillo is starting to fall apart.

Asked if there was any truth to the annulment rumors, the Kapamilya star couldn’t help but just laugh them off.

“It cracks me up. Where and how do people come up with these things? But Ryan and I have been dealing with intrigues for quite some time now, and we’re getting used to them,” she told a small group of scribes shortly after the 10th Golden Screen Awards for Movies, where she was among those honored with the Dekada Award.

FEATURED STORIES

Asked who she thought could concoct such tall tales, Juday said she had no idea, and that she wouldn’t dare waste her time trying to find out. “I don’t want to name names because I don’t know anyone who has an axe to grind with me,” Juday said.

She continued: “But if [Ryan and I] help these people earn a living by making up stories about us, go! Who are we to stop them?”

Meanwhile, to those insinuating that there was something romantic going on between Ryan and “Eat Bulaga!” cohost Isabelle Daza, Juday said: “Patawarin niyo naman na ’yung bata. Susmaryosep naman (My God, spare the child). Just let the kid enjoy show biz without the malicious intrigues.”

While intrigues could be exasperating, Juday found something positive about them. “If anything, intrigues allow us to have a sweeter relationship. When Ryan heard about the annulment rumors, he told me,

‘O, annulled na pala tayo. Eh ‘di pakasal na tayo ulit (Oh, we’re annulled already. Let’s get married again)!’”
