Cheer Factor: Philippines ‘mini fest’ in Busan

It’s a virtual festival of Filipino films in Busan (South Korea) in October. Several local indies have been invited to the major Asian fest. Loy Arcenas’ “Niño,” Cinemalaya Special Jury Prize winner, competes in the New Currents section. Two 1966 films directed by Fernando Poe Jr., “San Bernardo” and “Baril sa Aking Kamay,” will be featured in  Asian Westerns; Laurice Guillen’s “Maskara” in Windows on Asia section.
