Shamcey a perfect fit for new TV game show

SUPSUP. An adept player—and a sight for sore eyes, too.

We got to watch the new game show, “Minute to Win It,” last week and can report that this local version hosted by Luis Manzano isn’t as difficult and stressful as the original US version. —What a relief!

In the telecast we caught, contestant Kay Brosas was on her second day of competition and wasn’t faring well at all. In addition, her usual in-your-face behavior wasn’t exactly a viewing treat, so we weren’t all that crestfallen when she bowed out of the tilt.

Happilly, the contestant who followed her, Shamcey Supsup, turned out to be a more adept player and a sight for sore eyes, too—so the show fared much better.

The contrast serves to remind us of the importance of choosing the right guest or contestant for a TV game show—in some instances, it can make or unmake the entire production!

In Shamcey’s case, she turned out to be the perfect contestant, because she took the show’s games seriously, rehearsed a lot to play them, and was really in it to win it!

Challenge

Well, at the end of the telecast, she had won quite a lot of money! She started off with a fairly easy challenge, to make a “chain” of clothes hangers that were perfectly balanced.

Next came a more difficult task that involved rolling a series of sticky “marbles” so precisely that they didn’t fall off the top of a desk. She was finally able to pull that off, too, but it was a “cliffhanger” victory.

After that, came the challenge of setting up a series of bond paper reams like giant dominoes—and then making them sequentially fall in time to hit a bell before her minute was up. That proved to be tougher to pull off due to some balance issues, but she finally did it—at the very last second!

Other challenges followed, and we hope that in subsequent telecasts, Shamcey continued to do well—because her stellar performance had “winner” written all over it.

In fact, Shamcey did so well that we hope the show’s think tank will tap her to cohost the program with Luis, because she’s proven that she and the show are—a perfect fit!
