Kitkat taunts Gene Padilla for interfering in Claudia Barretto’s wedding

Gene Padilla, brother of controversial comedian Dennis Padilla, continued to feel the heat from netizens after lashing out at the latter’s daughter Claudia Barretto for allegedly disrespecting her father for forbidding him to walk her down the aisle and treating him like a guest, and not as a father.
Aside from Dennis, Gene was getting an equal amount of hate on social media for getting involved in the father-daughter feud, and airing his two-cents during the wedding. But the biggest blow came from Marjorie Barretto, mother of the bride and ex-wife of Dennis, who said that Gene was not even invited to the ceremony.
Then came comedienne Kitkat, who took to social media on Sunday, April 13, to taunt Gene for speaking out of turn at his niece’s wedding.
“Sorry di ko napigil. Tawang tawa lang ako dito. FYI: wala ako paki sa mga eksena. Natawa lang ako kasi nasopla si Gene. Di ka naman pala invited kasi, Gene [laughs] Well sakin umepal ka din dati, ikaw na pinag-simpatyahan ko,” she said.
(Sorry, I can’t help myself from laughing. I find this very funny. For your information, I wasn’t part of what happened. I just found it funny that Gene was criticized. Gene, you were not invited after all. You were such an attention seeker toward me before, I even gave you sympathy.)
Kitkat claimed that Gene was one of the people who ganged up against her before, even when she was still pregnant, apparently referring to her spat with former “Happy Time” co-host, Janno Gibbs.
“Gumatong at nakipag kampihan ka pa dun sa umaway sakin! Hahaha katatanda at kalalaki nyong tao pinagkaisahan nyo ko… P.S. DI KO MAKAKALIMUTAN YUN AT BUNTIS NA AKO NON! Hilig nyo manakit ng damdamin ng Babae, Bata, ng Kapwa,” she said.
(You had to involve yourself and sided with the people who were picking a fight with me. At your age, you did not act like a grown man that you had to gang up on me. I will never forget that because I was pregnant. You love to hurt the feelings of women, kids, and others.)
Kitkat also said she is planning to watch the Metro Manila Film Festival 2024 entry “Uninvited,” an apparent reference to Claudia’s wedding to Basti Lorenzo.
Following the backlash, Gene has limited the comments section on his social media platforms. He also addressed the “hurtful things” he had been receiving in a fresh Facebook post, saying, “It’s okay if you say hurtful things. You don’t know me, and I don’t know you — but I still choose to send you love, peace, and prayers for healing.”
In his previous posts, Gene decried the alleged shabby treatment received by his brother Dennis during the wedding, saying it was the first time he attended a wedding where the father of the bride did not get to walk his daughter down the aisle.
Following Gene and Dennis’ outbursts, Marjorie gave a two-part interview addressing the supposed “disrespect,” at the same time zeroing in on the former, saying Claudia had “no recollection of him”.
“Gene, ano bang nira-rant mo? First things first, no offense, you were not invited to the wedding. Si Mama lang at si Dennis,” she said, referring to her former mother-in-law Catalina Dominguez.
“Kasi sa ranting niya, parang nagising pa siya nang 5 a.m., mula Bulacan, pumunta siyang Alabang. Wala naman sinabing gawin mo ‘yun. Imbes na pinahinahon mo ‘yung kapatid mo, finuel pa niya eh… hindi ka invited, Gene eh. With all due respect, my daughter has no recollection of you. Wala kayong naging relasyon,” she further added.

Because with his rants, he shared that he woke up at 5 a.m., and that he traveled to Alabang from Bulacan. No one told you to do that. Instead of controlling your brother’s temper, you fueled it. You’re not invited, Gene. With all due respect, my daughter has no recollection of you. You didn’t have a relationship with her.)
