Ice Seguerra called the attention of the management of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) after his wife Liza Diño apparently lost items that were kept inside her luggage.

The singer spoke about this through a post on his Facebook page on Wednesday, March 26.

“Hello NAIA 1! Kakarating lang ng asawa ko from the United States via Philippine Airlines flight. May nawawala pong dalawang items sa loob ng box at maleta niya,” he said, opting not to disclose the items that he was pertaining to.

“Pwede kaya makausap yung security niyo diyan? Para ma-check yung mga lost items,” he added.

While Seguerra as well as Diño did not share further details on the matter, the singer’s post garnered over 20,000 Facebook reactions and more than 2,000 shares. It also drew comments from netizens who expressed worry over such incidents.

An incident involving missing items at NAIA also happened late last year when a female passenger claimed that her baggage arrived late and was unlocked, and that some items in it were missing.

The incident gave rise to speculations of luggage pilferage which led New Naia Infra Corp. (NNIC), the private entity that took over the management of NAIA, to conduct an investigation.

The management, citing footage from the establishment, later confirmed that “security protocols were strictly enforced and that no irregularities or unauthorized access occurred.” It added that the tampering likely occurred before the luggage arrived in the Philippines.

“Naia has strong security measures to protect luggage, including close monitoring by airline and airport personnel as well as strict anti-tampering protocols. Staff are also prohibited from carrying personal items like bags or phones in ramp areas and must wear uniforms without pockets to minimize opportunities for misconduct and prevent unnecessary suspicion. Given these, it would be extremely difficult for anyone to tamper with or steal items from a secured ULD within the limited time between the aircraft’s arrival and the baggage being placed on the carousel,” NNIC General Manager Angelito Alvarez said.
