Eugene Domingo revealed that her “Pilipinas Got Talent” Season 7 judging stint was due to the recommendation of her fellow judge Kathryn Bernardo.
Domingo opened up about accepting the offer to be a “Pilipinas Got Talent” season seven judge during the talent show’s media con after she, Bernardo, and host Melai Cantiveros were asked what makes women stronger.
“Gusto ko lang ishare sa inyo na I’m not here kung hindi sinuggest ni Kathryn na isama ako (I just want to share that I wouldn’t be here if Kathryn didn’t suggest for me to be part of this). So, I think that’s worth noting. Please note that,” she said.
The actress-comedian said being part of the show came at the right time since she was unsure of her next project.
“Because for a while, I’ve been thinking ano kayang show ang gagawin ko next? Ano ang next project ko? And my God, this show landed on my lap and I just said I think this is the best show. I mean, this is the most entertaining show. If the Filipinos have given up on TV, don’t. The best is yet to come,” she said.
Meanwhile, Bernardo shared that working with Domingo as a co-judge gives her a sense of comfort. “Iba rin ‘yung kampante ko kapag nandyan si Ms. Eugene. First time kong nandito, and every time na nandyan [sa judges’ panel], iba ang kaba maging judge.”
“‘Yung simpleng pagtingin ko sa kaliwa ko — which, si Ms. Eugene — iba ‘yung may fellow babae kang nakikita,” she continued. “And Ate Melai is there. So iba ang energy na nabibigay nating mga babae so thank you [to Eugene] for guiding me.”
(I feel a different sense of comfort when Ms. Eugene is there. It’s my first time to be here and every time I’m on the judge’s panel, it feels nervewracking. But when I look at my left, which is Ate Eugene, it feels different to have a fellow woman next to me. Ate Melai is also there. Women give off a different energy so thank you to Eugene for guiding me.)
Joining Domingo and Bernardo on the “Pilipinas Got Talent” season seven judging panel are Donny Pangilinan and returning judge Freddie “FMG” Garcia, former ABS-CBN president.
The seventh season of the talent show will premiere on March 29.
