Andrea Brillantes clarifies ‘not yet in a relationship’ with Sam Fernandez

Andrea Brillantes set the record straight on her relationship status, saying she and athlete Sam Fernandez are not officially together yet but that they are dating.

The dating rumors involving them were brought up during the actress’ interview on “TV Patrol” on Monday, March 10, while a video of the pair together at Brillantes’ event last Friday, March 7, flashed on the screen.

“Sinabi ko naman na open naman ako sa pagde-date kasi magtu-two years din naman na walang boyfriend,” she told entertainment reporter MJ Felipe.

“I am dating someone right now. He’s a private person, non-showbiz siya,” she confirmed.

Felipe then made a follow-up question, asking the actress if she was referring to the guy who gave her a huge bouquet of pink roses on Valentine’s Day.

“Yes, and he’s also not a basketball player. He used to play,” she clarified.

While Brillantes did not make mention of Fernandez’s name, it can be noted that he was spotted holding the blooms while on an apparent date with the actress last Feb. 14.

“I’ve known him for a while. We’ve been friends for many, many years na,” Brillantes added. “Not yet in a relationship. I’m just dating.”

Fernandez used to play basketball for San Beda. Speculations of romance between him and Brillantes arose last February after their Valentine’s Day sighting made rounds on social media.

Days later, the pair was spotted holding hands while walking at an event in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
