Kris Aquino remains “fragile” yet continues to fight every day, her makeup artist, RB Chanco, said after the former made her first public appearance since the onset of her health struggle.

Chanco, who glammed Aquino for her look at the PeopleAsia’s 2025 awards, explained that putting makeup on the latter’s face felt like a “risk” with the presence of her autoimmune diseases.

“After three years, I finally got to do her makeup again—something I had hoped for but feared might never happen. But last night, it did, and I couldn’t have been happier,” the makeup artist wrote on her Instagram page.

“Kris is still very sick—frail, fragile, and fighting every day—which made every makeup product and brushstroke feel like a risk. With her severe allergies and flares, I was terrified she’d react, especially since she hasn’t worn makeup since her health declined. But by some miracle, her reaction was minimal, and that alone was a huge relief,” Chanco continued.

The celebrity makeup artist emphasized that Aquino stepping out into the public eye is a reminder of her resilience

“Her appearance was brief but deeply meaningful — a sign that she’s still here, still fighting, still moving forward. Despite everything, she made her first public appearance since becoming very ill. The real queen, the Kris we all love and miss, is still here — stronger than we know. And maybe, just maybe, this is the start of something more,” she concluded.

Aquino donned a yellow top and a fuchsia pink blazer in her recent appearance, to seemingly symbolize the political color (yellow) of her family, given the event happened on the 39th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution.

Prior to her public appearance, the former “Kris TV” host clarified that she is “not fit to work yet” because she is currently “underweight” and that the physical pain brought by her autoimmune diseases is “overwhelming” amid the rumors of her showbiz comeback.

Meanwhile, Chanco is known to be also the makeup artist for celebrities Francine Diaz, Jodi Sta. Maria, Angeline Quinto and Shaina Magdayao, among others.
