Maricel Soriano should come out of her hiding place soon to clear her name, after former housemaids accused her of maltreatment. Someone close to Maria told me that ever since the Diamond Star’s mom passed away, she was never the same again.

May the spirit of her Mommy Linda Carter (as she was fondly called) help Maria get her act together and regain lost glory.

But for now, we just can’t help but say … Twinkle, twinkle Diamond Star. How we wonder where you are!

FEATURED STORIES

Director’s cut

Direk GB Sampedro is puzzled on why some quarters are pinpointing him to be the source of stories about Vice Ganda’s recent Araneta pre-concert “outbursts.”

“There were so many people during tech rehearsals, so why are they singling me out?” he asks. “I even pulled Vice aside and told him not to cause a commotion para iwas-chismis. It’s true I almost walked out of his concert which I directed, but we were able to iron things out and Vice even apologized to me.

“Tension-filled lang ang atmosphere kaya siguro tempers were running high … I do my work behind the camera the best way I can.  It’s not my job to feed info…”

Brains, not body

Daiana Menezes was reportedly on the verge of tears during a promo mall show of “Iskul Bukol.”

“When I was explaining the mechanics of the game, Erica Padilla told me to shut up and just sit in one corner. Napahiya ako kasi she said it sa mic,”  she related. “They gave me a mic so that means may karapatan akong magsalita. It was not my intention to make agaw-eksena kay Erica.

“I felt like crying but I slowly left the stage. The staff apologized, but not Erica. I’m tired of the joke that I may be maganda but I’m tanga. It’s so unfair. If I were tanga I would not be able to feed my mom by working so hard. My job is decent. I use my brains and not my body.”

Brazilian, not Brasilly! Daiana may be a Brazilian by birth but she’s a Pinay at heart. If only for that, her colleagues like Erica should not alienate her. Huwag “brasuhin” ang Brazilian.

Personal: Congrats to my Posh Nails family led by Cat Ilacad for bagging the best homegrown and most promising franchise.
