SB19’s “Pagtatag!” documentary and the Vice Ganda-led “And the Breadwinner Is…” are the Filipino-helmed films that will be screened at the 2025 Osaka Asia Film Festival.
The “Pagtatag!” docu film and “And the Breadwinner Is…” will be screened under the Special Screenings and Spotlight categories, respectively, as stated on the festival’s official website.
Helmed by Jed Regala, the SB19-led docu revolves around the preparations leading up to the P-pop powerhouse’s second EP, world tour, and other behind-the-scenes moments which, according to the quintet, shows the “human side” of stardom.
“And the Breadwinner Is…” was one of the entries at the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), which tells the story of Bambi Salvador (Vice Ganda) dealing with the silent cries of being a breadwinner and how it affected his relationship with his family.
Apart from Vice Ganda, the film also stars Eugene Domingo, Gladys Reyes, Jhong Hilario, Malou de Guzman, Maris Racal, Anthony Jennings, and Kokoy de Santos. It was the highest box grossing entry at the 2024 MMFF.
The docufilm’s screening was also announced by SB19’s 1Z Entertainment on its Instagram page on Saturday, February 15, while inviting the group’s Japanese fans (or A’TIN) to see it during the festival’s run.
“‘Pagtatag!’ The Documentary made it to Osaka Asian Film Festival 2025! We’re beyond thrilled to share @officialsb19’s ‘Pagtatag!’ journey to a wider audience! It was an unforgettable adventure and we can’t wait to take the Japanese A’TIN along with us,” the post read.
