Disc jockey Jellie Aw has lodged a complaint against her fiancé Jam Ignacio at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), after she allegedly suffered beating at the hands of the latter.

NBI chief Jaime Santiago, meanwhile, said on Friday, Feb. 14, that his agency is already in hot pursuit of Ignacio after announcing that Jellie had already filed a complaint against Ignacio.

Jellie went to the NBI to seek help, as per “24 Oras” on Thursday, Feb. 13, a day after she made public the photos of her swollen and bruised face that was allegedly caused by Ignacio.

“Hinahabol na natin ang kanyang boyfriend (We are already going after her boyfriend),” Santiago told reporters.

“At ngayon nga, kung su-swertehin tayo, within the day, makukuha natin ‘yung boyfriend niya para mapanagot sa kasalanan na ginawa niya,” he added.

(And now, if we’re lucky, we’ll catch her boyfriend within the day to hold her accountable for the crime he committed.)

Santiago also said that she warned Jellie not to forgive Ignacio should the latter apologize to her.

“Sabi niya, ‘hindi.’ Tuturuan daw niya ng leksyon, she wants the boyfriend to go to jail,” Santiago said.

(She said, ‘no.’ She said she would teach him a lesson and that she wanted the boyfriend to go to jail.)

Santiago said he also directed the matter to the NBI’s Violence Against Women and Children Division, headed by Atty. Yehlen Agus.

Further details on the complaint have yet to be made public, although Jellie narrated that the alleged beating happened after she hugged and greeted a disc jockey friend.

Ignacio apparently got jealous and beat Jellie while they were in the car on their way home.

Jellie urged Ignacio, whose whereabouts remain unknown, to face what he did. The NBI likewise advised Ignacio to surrender and cooperate with them.

Ignacio and Jellie got engaged in November last year when they were just four months into their relationship.

“‘Di ako makapaniwala kasi four months pa lang tayo. Wala pala sa tagal ‘yun at sa dami ng pinagsamahan, basta mahal mo isang tao at nakikita mo na siya sa future mo habang buhay, ‘di mo na papatagalin pa,” she said when she announced their engagement. With a report from Zacarian Sarao
