Two years after its second season, “Alice in Borderland” is set to return this September, unveiling some brand-new looks at the upcoming third season.
Released on Wednesday, Feb. 12, Netflix Japan dropped the first official teaser trailer for the sci-fi thriller hit drama, offering a glimpse into the lead characters’ high-stakes survival journey.
The trailer sees Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya reprising their roles as Arisu and Usagi, respectively, as a mysterious voice lures them back to the Borderland, “Won’t you return to that beautiful world?”
The rest of the 30-second teaser features dramatic sequences, challenges, and explosions that set the foundation for the tone of the story.

The trailer also teased the presence of the “Joker” character, which symbolizes significance in the game.
“We’ve cleared all the games of the card suits, but we haven’t fought the Joker yet,” Arisu said.

The show’s season 2 racked up 216.23 million hours viewed, equating to 26 million views over five weeks of its release.
Since its premiere, the series has won multiple awards, including Best Cinematography, Best Visual or Special VFX in a TV Series or Feature Film, and Best Direction (Fiction) at the Asian Academy Creative Awards.
Aside from Yamazaki and Tsuchiya, the Japanese series also features Nijirō Murakami, Ayaka Miyoshi, Aya Asahina, and Dori Sakurada.
