‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’ trailer teases new chapter in cheating death

The game of cheating death continues as the first official teaser trailer for “Final Destination: Bloodlines” has been released, teasing a new chapter in the beloved horror franchise after 14 years since its last installment.
Released on Monday, Feb. 3, the trailer takes the audience back to the very beginning of “Death’s twisted sense of justice” as it introduces a fresh set of characters caught in a deadly chain of events.

The 2-minute teaser opens with a tattoo artist giving his client a painful tongue piercing before inking his forearm with the word “dad.”
The tattoo artist is met with a series of unfortunate chain reactions leading to his being burned to death as the 1971 Harry Nilsson’s song “Can’t Live” plays in the background.
According to the trailer’s description, the story will focus on Stefanie, a college student dealing with a series of concerning nightmares.
“Plagued by a violent recurring nightmare, college student Stefanie heads home to track down the one person who might be able to break the cycle and save her family from the grisly demise that inevitably awaits them all,” read the description.
“Final Destination: Bloodlines” stars Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Rya Kihlstedt, Anna Lore, Brec Bassinger, and Tony Todd.
The film is directed by Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky with Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor’s screenplay and story by Jon Watts. It is based on characters created by Jeffrey Reddick.
The Final Destination franchise includes six films, ten novels, and two comic books.
“Final Destination: Bloodlines” arrives in cinemas nationwide on May 16.
