Blackpink’s Jisoo to release solo album on Valentine's Day

Jisoo of Blackpink is set for her solo return with a new album to be released on Feb. 14, two years after her solo debut.

According to her agency, Blissoo Entertainment, on Tuesday, Jisoo will release her second solo album on Feb. 14, or Valentine’s Day. This marks her second solo project since her debut single, “Flower,” released in March 2023.

More information, including the album title, will be announced later.

The upcoming album will be Jisoo’s first under her independent label, Blissoo, which she founded after parting ways with YG Entertainment.

Jisoo’s solo debut single, “Flower,” landed at No. 38 on the UK Official Singles Chart, No. 1 on iTunes in 57 countries, and No. 6 on Spotify’s global charts. While it narrowly missed entering the Billboard Hot 100, reaching No. 4 on the “Bubbling Under Hot 100” chart, fans are eager to see if her upcoming release will secure a spot on the Hot 100.

Jisoo is also expanding her acting career. She will star next in Coupang Play’s original series “Newtopia,” set to premiere Feb. 7.

In “Newtopia,” Jisoo takes on the role of Kang Young-joo, who enters the workforce as her boyfriend Lee Jae-yoon (Park Jeong-min) fulfills his mandatory military service.

Jisoo is also gearing up for the full-group comeback of Blackpink, to take place in the latter half of this year.

Blackpink’s second studio album, “Born Pink,” released in September 2022, is the group’s recent record. It contains the songs “Pink Venom,” “Shut Down,” and “Typa Girl,” among others.

The girl group also embarked on their “Born Pink” world tour from October 2022 to September 2023, which included a stop in Bulacan, Philippines.
