“The Voice USA” season 26 winner Sofronio Vasquez was overwhelmed with gratitude after performing with OPM artists such as Regine Velasquez, Ogie Alcasid, and Martin Nievera on “ASAP.”

Vasquez graced the noontime show’s January 12 episode where he did a solo performance of Sia’s “Unstoppable,” and was then joined by Velasquez and Zsa Zsa Padilla for a rendition of Celine Dion’s “The Power of Love.”

He also performed Dusty Springfield’s “You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me” with Alcasid and Erik Santos, and sang “The Greatest Showman’s” movie soundtrack “A Million Dreams” with Nievera and Gary Valenciano.

The final part of “A Million Dreams” featured Vasquez, Valenciano, and Nievera being joined by Velasquez, Padilla, Dion, Alcasid, and Santos.

“Maraming salamat po [sa] ‘ASAP’ (Thank you very much) for giving me this opportunity. Gusto ko lang po sabihin na pangarap ko lang po dati makatapak sa stage (I just want to say that being on this stage was my dream) and now it’s finally here,” he said after his performance, which was met with applause from the audience.

When asked about the lessons he learned from his “The Voice USA” coach Michael Bublé throughout his stint, Vasquez shared that he was always reminded to stay true to his Filipino roots.

“He would always tell me to be at peace every time. You don’t have to be technically perfect, as long as you send the message of love and hope. He would always remind me to be a Filipino,” he said.

The singer also took to his Instagram page to thank the noontime variety show for the opportunity to perform.

“I had the best time in @asapofficial. Thanks, Kapamilya,” he wrote.

An alum of “It’s Showtime’s” “Tawag ng Tanghalan” segment, Vasquez was named the winner of the US-based singing contest in December 2024. He was the first Filipino to win the competition.

He is set to hold a solo concert at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino in Cebu City on January 18.
