Danica Sotto paid tribute to her late stepfather, Agriculture Undersecretary Deogracias Victor “DV” Savellano, regretting how she was not able to express her gratitude to him for his kindness the last time they saw each other last Christmas.
Danica, the daughter of Savellano’s actress wife Dina Bonnevie with Vic Sotto, reminisced on her moments with her stepdad through photos shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday, Jan. 8.
“Thank you, Tito DV, for being a loving husband and a kind stepdad to us. I will miss the food trips, your laughter, and your facial expressions whenever we teased Mom,” Danica said.
“I didn’t expect that last Christmas would be our final one with you. Sana napasalamatan pa kita,” she stated.
The actress further described Savellano as a “man of few words” who nonetheless expressed his love by caring for the people around him.
“I will never forget your kindness,” Danica added. “We will miss you, Tito.”
Kristine Hermosa, wife of Danica’s brother Oyo Sotto, likewise honored Savellano via the comments section.
“We will miss you, Tito DV. You have a good heart,” Hermosa wrote.
Savellano died of abdominal aneurysm on Tuesday, Jan. 7. He was 65.
DV’s wake will be held in Quezon City from Jan. 8 to 11, then at his residence in Cabugao, Ilocos Sur, on Jan. 12 to 16. His burial is on Jan. 17.
