Boys of P-pop group Alamat share thoughts on Christmas, connections

As diverse as their backgrounds are, members of the P-Pop boy group Alamat also shared different takes on how they would play Santa Claus for a day.

The young sextet sat with INQUIRER.net at the sidelines of the thanksgiving event of a telecommunity company held in Makati City recently, where they imparted their thoughts on the holidays.

R-Ji said he would love to give his family a new lifestyle as Santa Claus, “mas nakakahingang (a more comfortable) lifestyle.” The Waray lad traces his roots in Borongan City, Eastern Samar.

Davaoeño Alas, meanwhile, said he would play Santa to R-Ji if given the chance. “Hard working kasi siya, lagi siyang nasa computer (he is hard working, he is always on the computer),” he said.

Upon hearing this, R-Ji asked Alas if he could get a motorcycle from him for Christmas. “Computer muna, pagkatapos doon tayo mage-search ng motor (A computer first, and then we’ll use it to browse motorcycles),” the latter jested.

Mo offered an even more outrageous response. He said he would play Santa to LeBron James and give the NBA superstar a P5 coin, and tell him, “this is our money.”

But on a more serious note, the Amerasian singer from Zambales said he would indeed want fly to see the professional cager and just offer a high five as a Christmas present.

Tomas, for his part, shared that he has long been dreaming of sending kids to shool, so he would want to offer the gift of education as Santa. “Kung may pera lang ako, magpapaaral talaga ako ng masipag talaga siyang mag-aral pero wala talaga siyang pera (If I only have the resources, I will send someone to school, someone who is very diligent but really cannot afford it),” the Bicolano performer said.

Taneo, meanwhile, considers having fast and reliable internet connectivity as a Christmas gift that he is currently enjoying, because it helps him stay connected to his loved ones in Cordillera even when the group is away

Kapampangan Jao expressed his gratitude for all the opportunities coming their way, for the brands who helped them spread their wings in the industry, sending them on tours to help “amplify” the group’s mission of “promoting Filipino culture, diversity, and Filipino talent” across the country.
