Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards have nothing but gratitude to their supporters as their film “Hello, Love, Again” made history as the first Philippine film to cross the P1 billion mark at the box office.
Since its release in theaters earlier this month, the Bernardo and Richards starrer made numerous records such as earning the biggest first-day ticket sales at P85 million and debuting on the eighth spot at the US’ Top 10 box office last Nov. 19, among other milestones.
It has overtaken Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes’ “Rewind” to be the highest-grossing Filipino film, earning P1.06 billion.
This milestone led the actor to thank the film’s supporters on his Instagram account on Saturday, Nov. 23.
“Thank you for making this happen. We are truly grateful beyond words. Maraming, maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat (Thank you very much to all of you). To God be the glory,” he wrote.
Bernardo and Richards also showed their appreciation in a video message on ABS-CBN News’ YouTube channel uploaded on Monday, Nov. 25, with the latter saying he loves their fans a “billion times.”
“We love you a billion times, guys. Grabe (Wow),” he said. “We didn’t expect na aabot nang ganito ang gross income ng ‘Hello, Love, Again’ (We didn’t expect that the gross income of ‘Hello, Love, Again’ will hit this mark). No words to say how grateful we are.”
Meanwhile, Bernardo admitted that she’s left with “no words” about the film’s achievement.
“Yes, no words po. We’re just extremely grateful. Thank you sa lahat ng mga sumusuporta, sa lahat ng mga kababayans namin. Parte kayo nito (Thank you to everyone who supports the film, to all our kababayans. You’re part of this),” she said.
“Thank you for making this happen. Thank you for making this possible. And congratulations to us,” she added.
“Hello, Love, Again” picks up where the story of Joy (Bernardo) and Ethan (Richards) left off, as the latter is determined to win her back after breaking up during the height of the pandemic. But Joy remained firm with her decision, and she made the bold declaration that “Joy is gone.”
Aside from theaters in the Philippines, the romance drama is also screened in theaters in North America, Asia and the Middle East.
